Questions
The questions agencies ask, answered at length.
Including the ones with an awkward answer. If something you need to know is missing, ask us and we will add it here.
Part one
Your WhatsApp number
The part that decides whether any of the rest matters.
Do we need a new phone number?
No. You have three options: connect the WhatsApp Business app number you use today and keep using the app on the phone too; connect a new number; or move a number that is with another WhatsApp provider. Most agencies keep their existing number — it is connected through coexistence, Meta’s own onboarding for numbers already on the WhatsApp Business app, so nothing is ported and nobody has to be told about a new number.
Will the WhatsApp Business app on our phone stop working?
No. It keeps working exactly as it does today, and that is the point rather than a side effect. One-to-one chats, your saved contacts, voice and video calls all carry on. There is no delete-the-account step anywhere in our onboarding.
So what do we actually lose?
Five things, and we list them before you connect: broadcast lists become read-only on that number, so no new ones can be created; disappearing messages, view-once media and live location are switched off; group chats do not sync into the platform; sending is capped at 20 messages per second; and WhatsApp companion devices for Windows and Wear OS are unlinked.
If you sell today by sending to broadcast lists, that is the one to weigh seriously — reaching a list moves to paid template campaigns. The full list is on the coexistence page.
Do messages our staff send from the phone reach the platform?
Yes, and this is what keeps the system honest. A reply typed in the WhatsApp Business app is echoed to TripOps and recorded against that traveller, so the record is complete even when the work happened on a handset. Those messages are also free: Meta’s documentation is explicit that messages sent from the WhatsApp Business app are not subject to the customer service window and do not create, extend or affect paid conversation windows or pricing.
Will our old chats appear in the platform?
Your saved contact list comes across when we connect, so the inbox shows names rather than bare numbers. Older conversations stay on the phone where they are, and the platform records everything from the moment it is connected. We could have written that more generously; this is what we will actually stand behind.
Is this an unofficial WhatsApp bridge? Could our number be banned?
No. Unofficial bridges run scripted taps against the WhatsApp app and breach WhatsApp’s terms, and numbers do get banned for it. Coexistence is a documented Meta product with an official webhook contract, and TripOps passed Meta’s App Review as a verified Tech Provider, which is the status that permits it. Your own messaging still has to follow WhatsApp’s rules — consent, opt-outs, no spam — exactly as it does now.
Can we move our number from another WhatsApp provider?
Then there is one extra step. Meta keeps a single partner slot per WhatsApp Business Account, and a previous provider can still be holding it even when Meta’s own screens show none assigned. The documented fix is to disconnect and then reconnect the number in the WhatsApp Business app, which releases the slot. We have hit this ourselves and cleared it; it is a minute on the phone. Tell us which tool you use today and we take you through the move.
Do we need Meta business verification first?
Not to start. An unverified business portfolio begins at 250 new contacts in 24 hours, which is more than most agencies open in a day, and verification raises the ceiling from there. You do need a payment method on your WhatsApp Business Account, because Meta invoices you directly.
Can we disconnect later?
Yes, without asking us. Disconnect from the WhatsApp Business app on the phone (Settings, then Account, then Business Platform), or remove our permission in your own Meta Business Settings. The account and the number are yours throughout.
Part two
The product and pricing
What you get, what it costs, and the limits.
What do we get?
The CRM Box (your WhatsApp chats, shared by the team), leads and queries with scoring, the Lead Qualifier, the Briefer, follow-up reminders, quotes, bookings with vouchers and a GST export, tasks, analytics, the Library, team roles and your own branded app. Every module is described here, with screenshots.
On top of that, the Itinerary Generator add-on drafts day-wise itineraries and packages for your quotes from your Library.
What does it cost?
₹2,999 per agency per month on Standard, with 2 agents, the Briefer and the Lead Qualifier included. Each additional agent is ₹999 per month. Prices exclusive of GST. The Itinerary Generator add-on is ₹500 per agency per month plus ₹200 per additional agent. WhatsApp conversation charges are billed by Meta to your agency directly. Work out your total on the pricing page.
Are there usage limits?
Yes, per agent per month: 100 lead qualifications on Standard (one per new ad lead the Lead Qualifier starts a conversation with, whether the customer answers every question or only some), and 100 generated packages with the Itinerary Generator add-on. Allowances add up across your team. When the month’s qualifications are used up, the Lead Qualifier does not start new conversations; new leads still arrive in the CRM Box for your team. The allowance starts again next month.
Does the assistant reply to everybody who messages us?
No, and it should not — your agency’s number also receives suppliers, friends and industry contacts. The Lead Qualifier starts a conversation only with a brand-new lead from a click-to-WhatsApp ad — never an existing chat. You choose its greeting, its closing line and which details it asks for, and the moment someone on your team replies, the assistant stops talking in that thread.
How many people can use it?
As many as you need. Standard includes 2 agents; each additional agent is ₹999 per month. Everyone gets their own login and a role — Agency Admin, Manager or Executive — and they all work from the same shared inbox. Larger agency? Request a call back.
Can we cancel?
Yes. There is no lock-in: subscription fees are paid in advance for the period and you can cancel with effect from the end of the period you have paid for. See the terms of service.
Can we use it for more than one number?
Yes — the platform is built for several numbers per agency from the start, because agencies often connect a campaign number first and their main number later. Tell us how many you run.
What about group chats with suppliers?
They keep working on the phone and never appear in TripOps. Meta’s coexistence does not sync groups, so nothing about your supplier groups changes and nothing about them is visible to us.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. TripOps runs in the browser on a phone or a computer, and your team can install your agency’s own app on their home screen, with push notifications. Your team can also keep using the WhatsApp Business app for chatting.
Can we bring our leads from our current CRM?
Yes — contacts and leads can be imported from a spreadsheet (CSV or Excel), which is what most CRMs export. Larger agencies can ask us to help.
What is Teniee?
Teniee is the product; TripOps is the platform brand it is sold under — "Teniee by TripOps". You will see both names, and they are the same thing. Your invoices, your account and this website are TripOps.
Part three
Data, security and leaving
Read this section hardest.
Who owns our travellers’ data?
You do. For your agency’s own account data we are the data fiduciary; for the travellers you talk to, your agency is the fiduciary and we are your processor, handling that data on your instructions. It is set out in the privacy policy, which is worth two minutes before you sign.
Could another agency on the platform see our conversations?
No, and it is tested rather than promised. Every record carries the id of the agency that owns it, and conversations are keyed by agency and phone number — which matters, because two agencies can legitimately be talking to the same traveller and a key built on the phone number alone would silently merge them. An automated test attempts exactly that cross-agency read on every build and fails the build if it succeeds.
Is our data used to train AI, or to help another agency?
No. We do not pool one agency’s data to serve another, we do not sell personal data, and we do not use traveller conversations for advertising. Assisted replies and summaries are generated through the AI providers named in the privacy policy.
Where is the data stored?
On our hosting provider’s servers, with traffic encrypted in transit, passwords stored only as hashes, and your WhatsApp access credentials encrypted at rest and reachable only by platform administrators. Some providers we rely on operate outside India, which the privacy policy says plainly.
What happens if we leave?
You disconnect your WhatsApp Business Account yourself, we send you an export of your agency’s records, and we delete your data — within 30 days of the request, except for invoices and tax records Indian law requires us to keep. The procedure is on the data deletion page.
A traveller has asked us to delete their data. What do we do?
You decide — the traveller is your customer and you are the fiduciary. Tell us what to remove and we act on it. If a traveller writes to us directly we pass the request to you and support you in answering it, which is the honest division of responsibility and also what the law expects.
Who do we talk to when something breaks?
Us, directly — there is no ticket queue between you and the people who wrote the software. Email the address in the footer of this site or reply to whoever ran your onboarding.
Still have a question?
Ask us — request a call back — or read the technical description of the WhatsApp integration, which answers most of the remaining ones.
